Wedded Bliss

My cousin Ryan got married to Kirsten on June 16th, 2012 and I got the privilege to do hair for her! It was a beautiful wedding and you could tell just how in love they were throughout the entire day!

I really don't think my cousin could have picked a better person for him. Kirsten brings out the best in Ryan. He has grown so much since they started dating. Plus I've never seen him happier. =) Thanks for that Kirsten!

Here are some photos of their special day!!

Garbage bags to protect that hair from the rain!

Breathtaking!

Thank you so much Ryan and Kirsten for letting us be apart of such a special day! I wish you both nothing but happiness and a marriage that is as wonderful and as long as my parents!! Love you both!!! Here's to your happily ever after!

Curly Sue, I Love You

I'm totally one of those girls that want what I can't have. Every time I have a client that has that gorgeous, super curly hair, I get MAJOR hair envy! I would love curly hair. I have that frizzy, wavy, ugh I can't go natural hair. I either have to straighten it or curl it with a curling iron every day! Now there are some days I want to pretend I have fun, sassy curls and this is how I get that look...

Start off with some good products. I use Moroccan Oil and Big Sexy Hair- Full On Curls.

Make sure you evenly distribute the products and then start scrunching your hair.

After you've scrunched all your hair, scrunch sections of your hair all the way to the scalp and secure with either a hair clip or hair band. I usually do 5 sections- one on each side, one at the crown and 2 in the back. Now trust me, you're gonna look extremely hot and sexy during this step, so try and control your urge of going out like this...

Told you-HOT!

After that step, I usually put my make-up on or eat breakfast, just so it dries a little bit. That will make it a little tighter curl. Then I take my diffuser, you will need one-it helps BIG time, and blow dry your hair.

A little bit of hairspray and a few bobby pins later and voila...

Okay, so it's still not as fantastic as those natural curls but it's as close as I'm gonna get!! I'm always going to have curly hair envy...hmmmphhh

Scarfs

I'm loving scarfs this summer! There are so many ways to wear them. (They're also great for those days you don't want to do your hair!)

Like I said in the last post, we went to Big Lake in Missouri for the 4th of July. Nick and I decided Tuesday night (at 11pm!) that we were gonna go. So after he got done working-at midnight!- we packed a bag and made the 2 hour drive. I'm so glad that we decided to go because we had a blast! We spent the entire day outside. Us girls in the water and the boys drinking beers on the deck. Apparently the middle school -boys on one side-girls on the other- trend still lives on!
Well, while us girls were floating, Amanda and I found some clams! I didn't know the lake had em. I was pretty infatuated with them for awhile. They kept opening up a little bit and then shutting real quick! I've never seen them before. So cool! Haha, it's the little things!
We went on a few boat rides too. The fish were crazy at night, as they kept jumping all around us. A few even landed in the boat. -one hit me in the side and I'm pretty sure I screamed like a little girl! I wish I got pictures of them!
We ended the night by laying on chairs and watching fireworks. I loved how they made the lake sparkle! It doesn't get better than that!
Okay so back to the topic on hand, Scarfs. I wore one in my hair while we were out on the lake. It was so nice not having to worry about my hair blowing in my face the whole day, especially when we were on the boat. So not only are scarfs cute, but they're also practical! =)  Here are the only 2 pictures I took the whole day. (I'm shocked by myself cuz usually I'm a picture freak!)

See how infatuated I was with these clams? The only 2 pictures I have from the entire trip are of the clams! Haha!!! Oh well. Next time I'll do a better job of documenting our adventure!
Much love!!

Peek-a-Boo, I See You

I hope everyone had a great fourth!! We had so much fun at the lake with some friends. I was definitely exhausted yesterday!! (But it was completely worth it.)  =)  Thanks again Kim and Jon for having us out there! You are definitely the hostests with the mostests!!

Anywho....So, are you bored of your all over one color, but really don't want to change your hair? Want to do something fun, but have a job you can't do anything "crazy" with your hair? Try peek-a-boo's! It's an easy way to get some sassiness in your life! Sara loves trying new things so we decided to do some fun red in her hair. I love how it turned out!!

                       Here's before:

And After:

I also just colored Jules' hair too, but she's a blondie!

Thanks ladies for having fab hair! =) You guys are the best!  Much love!!

Quick and Easy

Hey everyone!! Here's my first little tutorial video (don't make too much fun of me!!). It's a quick, easy way for you to throw your hair half way up.  Mine is a loose every day look. If you have a function, like my Aunt Lynn, curl your hair even tighter! Hope you enjoy!

Kelly- I am so excited for you and Kip this week!! You are going to make an absolutely beautiful bride!! I cannot wait to see pictures and hear all about it! I'm so sorry Nick and I couldn't make it. Our love is most definitely with you on your big day!!   Much love!! =)
